Tesco Donation August 2023

A big thankyou to Tesco who have donated to our club via their Community Grant.

This will enable us to book a trip in wheelchair accessible coach to the Christmas Concert at the Albert Hall in December

Generous donation received

Many thanks to the Trustees of the Hazlemere Memorial Hall Charitable Organisation for making another very generous donation to our Stroke Club. This will enable our members to travel for a club outing by wheelchair accessible coach.

The donors are based in the Parish of Hazlemere and wish to help any not-for-profit organisation or individual based in the parish of Hazlemere looking for personal enhancement.

The Stroke Association has launched "My Stroke Guide".

This was demonstrated at one of our meetings by the Stroke Coordinator, Kathryn Coulston.

It has been designed with input from stroke survivors and carers to provide online support.

It includes easy to read information, advice and videos on stroke recovery. It also includes a chat forum where you can connect with other stroke survivors.

FREE CINEMA FOR CARERS

There are a number of ways that cinemas maximise disabled people's opportunities to enjoy going to the cinema.
Carers can now get in free to watch a film at the local cinema, e.g Empire at High Wycombe, when accompanying someone with a disability.
In order to get this concession you will need to obtain a CEA card by firstly completing a form on the Cinema Exhibitors' Association (CEA) website. The card costs £6 and is valid for 1 year and may be applied for online as below.

You will need this card when booking your cinema ticket.

Programme

We meet every Tuesday afternoon in Hazlemere.

Each week from 2pm there is an exercise class run by a qualified rehabilitation teacher, followed by social group until 4pm

When meeting the group on an outing, please take your mobile phone with you, plus the mobile phone number of someone travelling in another group to the event. One of us may become lost, delayed or need your help.
